FRCE Reduces Turnaround Time for H-53 Induction, Boosting Fleet Readiness

Fleet Readiness Center East has achieved a significant readiness milestone, reducing the turnaround time for a CH-53E Super Stallion by 14%, accelerating the aircraft’s return to the fleet and strengthening support for the Marine Corps’ heavy-lift community. This accomplishment marks a significant shift in the depot’s H-53 production performance, underscoring FRCE’s dedication toward faster, more efficient maintenance outcomes for the platform.

During an April 20 visit to the facility, H-53 Heavy Lift Helicopters Program Manager Col. Kate Fleeger presented a letter of appreciation to FRCE Commanding Officer Capt. Randy Berti, recognizing the H-53 production line’s progress and dedication to the mission. Fleeger said shorter turnaround times maximize combat power by keeping aircraft available and mission ready.

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation for your outstanding efforts and remarkable achievements for the H-53E program,” Fleeger said. “The recent data points to a clear and compelling story of a program that is not only turning a corner but is well on its way to setting a new standard of excellence. Your dedication and hard work are making a tangible difference, and it has not gone unnoticed. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to excellence and for your significant contributions to the readiness of our H-53 fleet and nation.”

FRCE provides maintenance, repair and overhaul support for the CH-53E Super Stallion, MH-53E Sea Dragon and CH-53K King Stallion. The facility also overhauls, assembles and tests the T64 and T408 engines that power the heavy-lift platforms.
